BIOGRAPHY

Assia Dagher, a pioneering figure in Lebanese and Egyptian cinema, carved her legacy as both an actress and a producer. Born in Tannourine in 1901, she relocated to Egypt in 1923 and quickly established herself in the film industry. In 1927, she founded Lotus Film, one of the first production companies in Egyptian cinema. Her early work, particularly in "Diary of a Country Prosecutor" (1969) and "Al Shaytan wal Kharif" (1972), showcases her dual talents and the depth of her contributions to film, making these titles highly sought after by collectors. Dagher transitioned from acting to producing in the late 1940s, where she continued to shape the cinematic landscape with notable films like "Return My Heart" and the groundbreaking "Nasser Salah Eddin," which was the most expensive Egyptian film of its time. Collectors value her work not only for its historical significance but also for its artistic innovation, as Dagher played a crucial role in advancing the narrative and production quality of Arab cinema. Her films remain a testament to a rich era in film history, making them prized additions to any collection.
