BIOGRAPHY

Hermína Týrlová, celebrated as the mother of Czech animation, carved an indelible mark on the world of animated films with her innovative stop-motion techniques. Born in 1900, she began her illustrious career at Studio AB, co-directing the landmark puppet animation film, *Tajemství Lucerny* (1935). Týrlová's genius truly shone in her later works, particularly with *Konec kouzelníka Uhahuly* (1981), a beloved title among collectors due to its enchanting storytelling and intricate animation. Her works, especially *Ferda Mravenec* (1944), resonated with audiences and have become collector's gems, with the original puppet from the film housed in Spain's Toy Museum.
