BIOGRAPHY

John Trent was a British-born Canadian director whose work in film and television left a lasting impact on collectors and cinephiles alike. He gained prominence in the 1980s with his film "Middle Age Crazy" (1980), a comedic exploration of midlife crises that has since become a staple in home video collections. This film, alongside his other notable work "It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time" (1975), showcases Trent's unique blend of humor and relatable storytelling, making them highly sought-after titles among collectors. Before transitioning to feature films, Trent honed his craft in Canadian television, directing episodes of popular CBC series like "Quentin Durgens, M.P." and "Wojeck." His commitment to storytelling extended through his production company, Quadrant Films, which also produced Bob Clark's "Deathdream," further solidifying his status in the industry. Tragically, Trent's life was cut short in 1983, but his films continue to be cherished by collectors who appreciate their nostalgic value and cultural significance.
