BIOGRAPHY

Long Vân, a pioneering figure in Vietnamese cinema, was celebrated for his impactful storytelling and contributions to the film industry. A graduate of the inaugural class of the Vietnam Film School, he left a lasting mark with his groundbreaking film "Stirring Dawn" (1977), which showcased the resilience and cultural richness of Vietnamese life during a tumultuous era. This film remains a treasured piece in collectors’ libraries for its artistic depth and historical significance. Vân is perhaps best known for the "Saigon Rangers" series (1986), a four-part epic that captured the bravery of Vietnamese youths as they navigated the complexities of espionage in South Vietnam before 1975. Notably, it was the first Vietnamese feature production in color, making it a landmark in the nation's cinematic history. Collectors seek out Vân's work not only for its historical context but also for the vibrant storytelling that continues to resonate with audiences today.
