So, 'Батюшка - Господи' is a fascinating piece, really. Even though the director remains unknown, the film carries a haunting musical atmosphere that draws you in. The pacing can be a bit erratic at times, almost mirroring the ebb and flow of a live performance. There's a rawness to the practical effects, which is refreshing in an age of digital overuse. The themes seem to revolve around spirituality and perhaps the human condition, but it's open to interpretation. The performances have a certain authenticity, making it feel very personal. It’s not exactly conventional, which is probably why it’s stuck with me; there's something about it that lingers long after the credits roll.
