So, '1941' is one of those Spielberg flicks thatâs a bit of a wild card. Itâs this chaotic blend of comedy and war, coming right after 'Jaws.' The tone is zany, almost frenetic, with characters running around in panic after Pearl Harbor. You get a real sense of the absurdity of fear during wartime. The practical effects, especially the tanks and planes, are a treat - they feel tangible. John Belushi steals scenes effortlessly, but itâs hard not to appreciate how it all comes together. The pacing can feel offbeat, like it doesnât quite know what it wants to be. But that's what makes it interesting; it's not your typical war film, that's for sure.
