310 Tung Chau Street is a raw look at life in a cramped tenement in Sham Shui Po. You’ve got three Vietnamese guys, all from the same area, crammed into a subdivided flat. It’s heavy. Unemployment and drug issues loom over their daily lives, and the tension is palpable. The cinematography captures the tight, oppressive atmosphere, making you feel the weight of their struggles. The pacing is deliberately slow, allowing you to soak in the bleakness and despair, but it’s balanced with moments of human connection. The directors faced various hurdles during filming, which adds to the authenticity. It’s not polished, and that’s what gives it a distinct edge. A gut-wrenching experience, for sure.
