A Friend to Die For is this gritty TV movie that really dives into the darker side of high school dynamics. Angela, played by a lesser-known actress, is this outsider from a struggling background who gets drawn into the glitzy world of the Montevista elite. The tension builds nicely as she gets caught up in the power struggles, especially with Stacy, the queen bee. The pacing can feel a bit uneven at times, but it really captures that high school pressure cooker vibe. The performances are solid, capturing teenage angst and betrayal. I think what stands out is its exploration of friendship and the costs that come with it, plus that raw feel of the late '90s TV movie aesthetic. It's a real slice of teen drama history.
