A Haunting in Cawdor is a pretty interesting dive into psychological horror. The atmosphere is thick with dread, and you can really feel the rundown nature of the Cawdor Theater. Vivian Miller, played by a younger actress here, is a fascinating character—her descent into madness is genuinely unsettling. Lawrence O’Neil, brought to life by Elwes, adds a layer of creepy charm that is hard to shake off. The pacing is deliberate, which builds tension effectively, though it sometimes leans on the slow side. The practical effects work well, enhancing the eerie vibe without over-relying on CGI. It’s not your typical run-of-the-mill horror flick; there’s a distinct sense of claustrophobia and despair that lingers with you long after the credits roll.
Interesting portrayal of psychological unraveling.Strong atmospheric tension throughout.Notable practical effects enhance the horror.
