A Whisper in the Dark 2 dives deeper into the aftermath of the Coldwater massacre, really lending itself to a dark, brooding atmosphere that grips you. The pacing is slower than some might expect, but it builds tension well, letting dread linger in the air. The performances, especially from Det. Nick Fisher and John Donovan, feel grounded, pulling you into their desperate hunt for the 'Engineer.' Practical effects stand out here; they feel raw and gritty, which is a nice departure from CGI overload. It does a good job of exploring themes of trauma and revenge, making it more than just a slasher flick. It’s a solid continuation and has its own distinct voice, which I appreciate.
