Aaj Ka Daur offers an interesting blend of action and drama, centering on Jackie Shroff's character who grapples with post-university life. He finds himself stuck as a petrol pump attendant, which is a bit of a statement on the job market, I suppose. Padmini Kolhapure’s character adds a layer of depth as she juggles her studies with financial struggles, which gives the film a relatable edge. The pacing is a bit uneven at times, but the practical effects during the action sequences stand out. You can feel the tension in the building owned by Prem Chopra, who is ruthless with his eviction plans, aided by Shakti Kapoor. It’s that classic struggle against oppression that gives the film some depth amidst its melodrama.
