Abducted (2007) dives into some dark themes with a grounded tone. The story revolves around Melanie, trapped in a marriage that feels more like a prison than a partnership. Tom, her husband and a prison warden, comes off as chillingly manipulative. Richard Roy's direction gives it a gritty realism—certainly not glossed over. The pacing drags a bit in the middle but ramps up nicely toward the climax. Performances, especially by the leads, really anchor the film. Jack, the inmate, is unsettlingly believable, adding layers to the tension. It's not flashy but has a rawness that sticks with you. Definitely one of those lesser-known gems in the action-crime drama realm.
