Absolution (2010) is an interesting drama that really dives into the darker corners of one man's psyche. The protagonist's failed suicide attempt sets a really somber tone, which carries throughout the film. It’s more about the journey than the destination, you know? The pacing feels a bit languid, which might not work for everyone, but it adds to that sense of aimlessness he embodies. The streets become almost a character themselves, filled with gritty realism. Performance-wise, the lead does a solid job of portraying despair and anger. There’s a haunting atmosphere, especially when he confronts the man responsible for his troubles. It’s a unique exploration of guilt and consequence, not your typical drama for sure.
Great for discussions on character-driven storytelling.Interesting use of urban settings to reflect emotional states.Pacing might not appeal to everyone; it's very introspective.
