A.C.O.R.N.S.: Operation Crackdown is this quirky animation that dives into the life of Frankie, a squirrel with a bit of a wild side. The film's pacing is somewhat erratic, but it fits the chaotic spirit of the story. Frankie's escapades alongside his not-so-bright buddy Cody lend a humorous touch, although the humor can be hit-or-miss. The themes of friendship and resilience are present, but they don’t always land with the depth you'd hope for. The visuals are colorful and playful, which is pretty standard for family animations, but the distinct premise of a forest overrun by an absurd institute gives it an edge. Overall, it’s a film that doesn't take itself too seriously, and there’s something to appreciate in that.
