Across the Hall is an intriguing little piece that plays with paranoia and jealousy in a confined space. The atmosphere is thick with tension as we watch the protagonist, played by a solid actor, spiral into a state of panic over his fiancée’s suspected infidelity. The pacing is tight, which really captures that feeling of claustrophobia and dread. You can sense the desperation in every phone call and every shifty glance. The minimal setting, just a hotel corridor, really amplifies the suspense. There’s a certain rawness to the performances, which keep you guessing about loyalty and trust. The film manages to create an engaging mystery without relying too heavily on flashy effects, letting the character dynamics drive the plot instead.
