Agoraphobia (2019) is a tight little thriller that explores isolation in a very literal sense. Annie, trapped in her own home after a traumatic event, really immerses you in that claustrophobic feel. The pacing is interesting; it builds tension slowly, keeping you on edge. The performances, especially from Annie's character, convey a palpable sense of fear and vulnerability. It’s not super flashy, but the practical effects do a nice job of grounding the horror in reality. The atmosphere is heavy, filled with dread as Annie discovers she's not really alone. It's that creeping sense of paranoia and confinement that makes this film stand out, even if it doesn't break new ground in the genre.
Strong sense of isolation and paranoia.Effective use of practical effects.Character-driven narrative with a slow build.
