Alien Vs. Zombies is a curious mix, really. You have this alien, Joe, who lands on Earth with dreams of adventure, only to find a zombie apocalypse. It’s a wild blend of adventure and comedy, but the horror elements can’t be ignored. The pacing is a bit uneven at times, bouncing between laugh-out-loud moments and some surprisingly dark scenes. The practical effects are quite charming in their own right—though not top-tier, they add a certain quirky flair that fits the overall tone. Young Parker, as Joe's ally, delivers a performance that’s earnest and often hilarious, contrasting Joe's naivety. It’s not your run-of-the-mill zombie flick, and that’s what makes it stand out. You can tell there’s a fun energy behind the camera, even with an unknown director at the helm.
