All Hallows Eve (1987) is one of those quirky horror flicks that kind of flies under the radar. You've got this eerie atmosphere that really captures that small-town Halloween vibe, just the right amount of fog and shadows. The pacing is interesting; it lulls you into this false sense of security before the scarecrow starts wreaking havoc. Practical effects here are definitely a highlight – they don’t hold back on the gore, and it really adds to the whole unsettling experience. And then there's the character of the drunk Michael Myers, which feels like a surreal twist amidst the chaos. It’s a bit of a mess but in a charming way, with reckless abandon that gives it a certain character. Definitely different from the typical slasher fare.
