Alone in the Wilderness: Part II picks right up where the first film left off. It's really something to witness Dick Proenneke's continued journey, you know? The way he documents his life in the Alaskan wilderness with that old 16mm Bolex camera has this raw, unrefined quality that just draws you in. The pacing feels almost meditative at times, letting you soak in the stunning visuals and the isolation he embraces. Themes of self-sufficiency and connection to nature are prevalent, and you can't help but admire his craftsmanship—both in his building techniques and in capturing his environment. There's this sense of solitude but also a quiet joy in his daily routines that makes you feel a part of it all. It's pretty distinct in its approach to storytelling, not flashy, but deeply resonant.
