So, 'Amba' is a curious little gem from '95. The animation style has this almost hand-drawn vibe that really pulls you in. The story takes a turn into some wild territory with Yulia's visit to this planet and her encounters with Rex. It's got a very eerie atmosphere that ramps up as the mutations from the silicon organisms unfold. The pacing is a bit uneven, which might throw some viewers off, but it really adds to that disorienting feel. The practical effects they used for the mutations? Quite something. There's a certain rawness to the whole experience, and the themes of survival and adaptation are pretty thought-provoking. Definitely not what you'd expect from typical sci-fi animation.
