American Flyer is a gritty drama that really digs into the struggles of one young man's desperate journey. Bondo, our protagonist, is on a harrowing path after his father is killed while trying to cross the border. The pacing has this raw, almost relentless quality to it, as Bondo faces all sorts of obstacles that feel very real. The tone is heavy, suffused with this palpable sense of urgency and despair, especially as he encounters the morally gray characters, including the corrupt cop who now wants him silenced. The performances, particularly from the lead, bring a haunting authenticity to the emotional turmoil. It’s not flashy but grounded, making the themes of loss, survival, and systemic failure all the more impactful. It’s an experience, really.
