So, 'Amityville: A New Generation' is kind of a mixed bag in the franchise. It’s got that bleak atmosphere that you expect, but it diverges a bit from the classic hauntings. The practical effects are decent; some creepy moments come from the mirror’s influence on Keyes, which is unsettling. There’s a real descent into madness in his performance that feels genuine, almost raw. The pacing can drag a little in spots, but there’s enough tension to keep you invested. Plus, the 90s aesthetic adds an odd charm. It’s definitely not the worst, and it has a unique angle with the mirror — which is something different for the series.
