Amityville Uprising is an interesting mishmash of action, horror, and thriller that plays heavily on the supernatural. It kicks off with a chemical explosion at a military base, which sets off a chain reaction of chaos. The atmosphere is thick with tension, especially as the toxic rain starts melting flesh—definitely a standout practical effect that adds to the grittiness. Sgt. Dash, played with a good mix of grit and vulnerability, tries to hold the station together as the dead rise. The pacing does get a bit uneven, but when it hits those horror notes, it really leans into the absurdity and the gore. It’s not your typical Amityville flick, which is refreshing in its own way.
