Anechoic is an intriguing take on the horror genre, really digging into sound as a source of terror. You’ve got this student character, who’s all eager and curious, but once she starts exploring those cave sounds, it gets pretty dark. The pacing is deliberate, building up this sense of dread—like you feel something lurking just out of earshot. The use of practical effects is a standout; they lean into the unsettling nature of sound, creating a claustrophobic atmosphere. The performances are solid, especially in how they convey that creeping paranoia. It’s distinctive in its focus on audio over visual scares, which is refreshing. Definitely something you don't see every day in horror films.
