Apples and Oranges is this curious little CGI short from 1999, directed by someone we don’t really know, which is kind of a mystery in itself. The animation has this playful yet slightly surreal vibe, you know? It explores the contrast between two seemingly opposite fruits, but it’s really more about the themes of connection and coexistence. The pacing has a kind of dreamlike flow, almost like you’re drifting through a whimsical orchard. The colors pop, and the textures are surprisingly tactile for CGI of that era. It’s distinctive for its subtle humor and warm atmosphere, which feels refreshing amidst the typical frantic pace of other animated shorts from the time. Definitely a unique piece.
