Arachnarche is an interesting blend of animation and horror that takes a rather unique approach. The atmosphere is creepy, with shadows lurking in every corner of the dollhouse. It plays on childhood fears, which is a nice touch. The pacing builds tension, especially as the spider becomes more of a threat. The theme of confronting one’s fears is evident, but there’s also this underlying dread that builds throughout. The practical effects, especially the animation of the spider, add a layer of unsettling realism. The doll's performance—there's something eerie about a character with no real voice but so much emotion. It’s not your typical horror flick, that’s for sure. Definitely has its own vibe.
