'Arachnoterror' is one of those low-budget gems that captures the grim atmosphere of a war-torn Earth, at odds with an alien race of giant arachnids. The practical effects are a mixed bag; some of the arachnid designs are surprisingly effective, while others fall flat, giving it that charming B-movie feel. The pacing is uneven, with moments of tension that sometimes give way to long stretches of dialogue, but that just adds to its quirky charm. The performances range from earnest to hilariously over-the-top, which can really be a highlight. Themes of survival and fear of the unknown permeate the film, making it a curious piece within the horror sci-fi subgenre. It's definitely one of those films that leaves an impression, even if you’re not sure why.
Notable for its practical effects work.Uneven pacing but interesting themes of survival.A mix of earnest and over-the-top performances.
