So, 'Arthur' (2011) is a remake of the classic, and it definitely has its own vibe. The film leans into this light-hearted, whimsical tone, thanks in part to Russell Brand's playful performance. He really brings that reckless charm to the character of Arthur, a rich guy who doesn't quite grasp the weight of his wealth. The pacing has this breezy feel, like a romantic stroll through Manhattan, which contrasts with the underlying theme of personal growth and responsibility. The chemistry with Greta Gerwig is nice, and you can feel that tension between love and familial expectations. It's not groundbreaking, but the practical effects and the interplay of characters do create a distinct atmosphere. Overall, it’s a fun watch, definitely not just a carbon copy of the original.
