As It Used To Be is one of those films that takes a hard look at the future of education. It’s got this eerie, almost claustrophobic atmosphere, where a history teacher finds himself teaching to just a webcam. The pacing is deliberate, almost meditative, which really forces you to sit with the character’s struggles. The performances are understated but effective; you can really feel the isolation and frustration in the teacher’s world. It’s interesting how it plays with themes of technology replacing human connection. The practical effects, while minimal, serve the narrative well, adding a layer of realism to this near-future scenario. Not your typical sci-fi, but it sticks with you in an unsettling way.
The film's tone is quite unsettling.Great exploration of technology's impact on education.Unique approach to storytelling in science fiction.
