So, Ashirbad kind of slips into this mix of familial betrayal and convoluted romance. You've got Brijlal, this really shifty businessman, who's all about his own gains, plotting against his partner and, more disturbingly, his own partner's kid. It sets a rather grim tone right from the start. The pacing is interesting – it takes its time before we see the fallout of Brijlal's schemes, and then there's this slow burn as we watch Tapas Paul, the surviving son, fall for Brijlal's daughter. Their interactions feel layered, filled with tension and unspoken history. The performances, especially from Mahua Roy Choudhury, bring a certain depth to the character dynamics. Overall, there’s a unique blend of drama and moral ambiguity that makes it stand out in the genre.
