Aspirin for the Masses is one of those quirky indie romcoms that doesn't really stick to the usual formula. The film dives into the chaotic love lives of its characters, especially Joni, who's torn between her steady, albeit dull, Ph.D. husband and this wild, passionate guy. It's set against the backdrop of Washington DC, which gives it this odd mix of political tension and personal drama. The pacing feels a bit erratic at times, which I think adds to that offbeat charm. The performances are a mixed bag; some characters are downright bizarre, but that’s what makes it distinctive. There's something about the way it captures the absurdity of love and ambition that keeps it engaging, even if it wanders a bit.
Unique character dynamics that challenge typical romcom tropes.Eclectic mix of comedy and romantic tension.Interesting approach to love and ambition themes.
