'Asthram' offers a distinct take on the original 'Sarfarosh', yet it struggles to capture the raw intensity of its predecessor. The direction by Suresh Krishna presents a blend of action and drama, but the pacing can feel uneven at times, leaving the audience wanting more of those gripping moments. Vishnu takes the lead, and while he has his moments, there's an attempt to recreate Aamir Khan's magnetic presence that just doesn't quite land. Themes of justice and sacrifice echo throughout, but there’s a sense of familiarity that can be a double-edged sword. Practical effects are present, albeit not groundbreaking. The overall atmosphere has this gritty vibe but lacks the edge one might hope for. It's an interesting watch, to say the least.
