Atlantis, directed by Luc Besson, is quite an experience. It’s not your typical documentary; it’s a deep dive into the ocean’s mesmerizing world, much like The Big Blue but more focused on the sheer beauty of the underwater realm. The cinematography is breathtaking, with sweeping shots that capture the grace of marine life, and the score by Eric Serra weaves an almost dreamlike atmosphere throughout. There’s a distinct lack of dialogue, which might throw some off, but it works to enhance the meditative quality of the film. It's a homage to what lies beneath, showcasing the delicate balance of life underwater. You can almost feel the water around you as you watch, which is what really sets it apart from other films in the genre.
Highly atmospheric and meditative.Focus on visuals over narrative.Features stunning practical underwater effects.
