Attack of the Thanksgiving Squash is this wild blend of horror and comedy that really plays with the absurd. The premise is just outrageous, right? A guy with a rare blood disease, he amputates his own hand, and then it gets kind of gruesome and funny. The hand finds its way to squash plants, which then become these monstrous, bloodthirsty veggies. The practical effects are surprisingly good for a low-budget film - you can tell they had fun with the squash designs. The pacing is a bit all over the place but it keeps you engaged with its dark humor. The performances, especially from the lead, manage to carry the film's bizarre tone well. It’s definitely not your usual creature feature.
