Attic (2020) is one of those eerie little films that creeps under your skin. The atmosphere is thick with tension, and it really nails that claustrophobic feel of being trapped in a space where something sinister lurks just out of sight. The pacing is deliberate, allowing moments of silence to amplify the dread. I mean, the sound design is haunting, too, like you can almost hear the house breathing. The practical effects, when they do show up, are surprisingly effective, adding a tangible layer of horror that digital effects often miss. The performances are solid; they feel genuine and really draw you into their mounting paranoia. It’s not groundbreaking, but it has a certain rawness that sticks with you afterwards.
