Attila and the Great Blue Bean is this quirky gem from 2007, directed by Kent Butterworth. It’s got this bizarre mix of medieval fantasy and animated charm that feels both nostalgic and fresh. The pacing is a bit erratic at times, but that weird rhythm kind of adds to its charm. The story revolves around Attila the Ham, a boar warrior, and a gritty human princess on their quest for this mythical Great Blue Bean, which is supposed to wield tremendous power. The practical effects and animation blend surprisingly well, giving it a unique visual appeal. Performances are a bit over the top, but in a way that fits the almost surreal atmosphere. Definitely a distinctive piece in the animation genre from that era.
