So, 'August' is an interesting piece, focusing on two brothers trying to navigate their dot-com startup during that chaotic August of 2001. The tension is palpable, and you can really feel the anxiety of the impending market crash, which adds a layer of urgency to the story. Austin Chick’s direction creates this almost claustrophobic atmosphere, kind of suffocating at times but in a way that’s fitting for the narrative. The performances by Josh Hartnett and Adam Scott are pretty solid—there's a rawness there that captures the desperation and ambition of the time. The pacing can feel uneven, but I think that reflects the uncertainty they’re facing. It’s not a glossy portrayal, more of a gritty snapshot of a moment in time.
