Austin Powers in Goldmember brings back the groovy absurdity we expect from the franchise. Jay Roach leans into a wild blend of '70s nostalgia and over-the-top comedy that feels both familiar and fresh. The pacing's a bit erratic, which actually fits the zany tone. You get some clever gags and a lot of visual glee, especially with the practical effects that are just charmingly low-tech. Mike Myers is at his best here, diving into multiple roles with that unmistakable energy. Plus, the addition of Goldmember, played by Myers, adds a distinct flavor—his bizarre quirks are something else. It's not as tight as the first two, but it has its own unique vibe that keeps you chuckling.
