B L U (2020) is an interesting piece, especially considering its origins in the COVID quarantine. The film dives deep into the murky waters of boredom and depression, exploring those intrusive thoughts we all faced during isolation. The pacing is deliberate, almost reflective, mirroring the protagonist's mental state. There’s a raw and gritty atmosphere that comes from its low-budget roots, but it captures that feeling of confinement so well. I found the performances to be quite compelling; they have a naturalism that really pulls you in. And while it may not have the polish of bigger productions, it's the authenticity and relatability that make it stand out in the sea of short films out there.
