Back to the Past (2020) is this quirky time travel flick that plays with the butterfly effect in a really interesting way. Juan Jose Bassil stumbles back to 1986, and you can feel the retro vibes just oozing out of the screen. The pacing has its moments, sometimes it drags a bit, but that adds to the charm, I think. The practical effects are a nod to the 80s, which gives it a unique texture you don’t see much nowadays. The dynamic between Juan and Doc Estefano Uraga is pretty enjoyable, with some genuinely funny moments that lighten the mood. Overall, it brings a fresh take on the time travel genre, without trying too hard to be serious.
