So, Beaver (2022) is an interesting little animation. I mean, it’s not your typical fare. The story revolves around this mouse who goes out of his way to save a starving beaver stranded on an island. The pacing flows nicely, giving you just enough time to soak in the visuals and the quirky humor. The animation style has a handmade feel, which I found refreshing compared to the slick, overproduced stuff out there. It’s charming really, even if the characters can come off as somewhat one-dimensional. The themes of friendship and sacrifice resonate, though. There's a certain warmth in the narrative, but it doesn't shy away from the tough spots, which I always appreciate.
