Believe It or Not #10, directed by Roy Mack, kind of stands out in the series. The whole documentary vibe is laid-back and yet oddly engaging. You find Mr. Ripley on a naval ship, chatting with sailors, which gives it a unique backdrop. The stories he shares—like that of Curt Thompson, a blind telephone operator, and the 102-year-old John R. Voorhees who voted 81 times—are just fascinating. There's something about the pacing that feels almost like a casual conversation rather than a traditional documentary. The practical effects and simple editing keep it grounded. It feels like an exploration of human oddities, celebrating those quirks that make us all interesting. It’s a nice slice of early 30s filmmaking.
