Berlin is in Germany is an interesting exploration of post-reunification identity through Martin's eyes. Stöhr has this way of blending dark humor with more serious undertones that really nails the awkwardness of transition. The pacing feels leisurely, almost reflective, which suits the character's gradual acclimation to a new reality. There's a raw honesty in the performances, especially from the lead, who navigates this bizarre new landscape with a kind of bewildered charm. The film has a low-key, almost documentary style that feels fitting for its themesâwhat it means to belong, and how history can loom large over personal lives. It's not flashy, but it has an understated power that lingers after the credits roll.
