Bhavum is an interesting study in interpersonal dynamics, set against the backdrop of coastal India. The film follows Joy, a journalist, and Lata, his professor wife, who seem to be in the routine of their lives until Lata's sister Subadra shows up. It's a slow burn, really, with this tension mounting as the characters navigate their discomfort and unresolved issues. The performances, particularly by Mita Vasisht, feel raw and authentic, grounding the drama in a palpable reality. The atmosphere is quite reflective, almost suffocating at times, which adds to the film's exploration of marital strains and familial ties. The pacing can feel deliberate, but it serves to build a genuine sense of unease that lingers long after the credits roll.
