BLEEDS is this eerie 2025 entry into the horror genre that really knows how to create tension. Set in the disquieting pine barrens, it captures that isolating feel that comes from being out in the wilderness. The sound design is haunting; those strange noises really set your teeth on edge. The pacing builds slowly, and I found it really effective in letting the fear simmer before it boils over. The performances of the two campers are raw and believable, drawing you into their escalating panic. I appreciate the use of practical effects over CGI—it gives the film a gritty, grounded vibe that feels more immersive. It’s not flashy, but it has a certain dread that sticks with you.
