Blinded (2024) presents a haunting exploration of solitude and the weight of memory. The protagonist's journey is marked by a slow, contemplative pace, allowing the audience to really feel the heaviness he carries. The atmosphere is thick with melancholy, almost palpable; you can sense the shadows of his past lurking just out of sight. The introduction of an unexpected companion adds a layer of tension and intrigue, pushing the narrative in unexpected directions. Performances are raw and grounded, which really grounds the film in reality. And while it leans heavily into emotions, it's not overly sentimental. There’s an interesting use of practical effects that enhance the surreal elements without overshadowing the story. Quite distinctive, really.
