Blood and Chocolate has this interesting blend of teenage angst and supernatural elements. The werewolf lore is pretty classic but what sets it apart is the focus on family loyalty versus personal desire. Katja von Garnier tries to craft a moody atmosphere, mixing some solid practical effects with a fair dose of teen drama. The performances aren't all top-tier, but Agnes Bruckner brings a certain vulnerability that resonates. The pacing can be a bit uneven, which some might find distracting, but I think it adds to the film's dreamlike quality. It’s not groundbreaking, but it certainly has its charm, especially for genre fans looking for something that leans into emotional stakes rather than just the horror aspect.
