Blood Delirium is one of those oddball horror films that really leans into its grotesque themes. The narrative follows this tortured painter who believes he's the reincarnation of Van Gogh, which is pretty wild. The pacing feels a bit erratic, but it actually adds to the unsettling atmosphere. The practical effects are a mix of low-budget charm and shock value, especially during the corpse scenes. Performances are over-the-top, but they fit the tone perfectly, especially the dynamic between the painter and his, let's say, unconventional butler. There's something about the blend of art, madness, and morbid obsession that makes it stand out in the genre. Not for everyone, but definitely interesting in its own right.
