Bloodbath in Psycho Town is one of those curiosities that linger in the back corners of genre cinema. The atmosphere is thick with dread, and the isolated setting adds a layer of tension that really pulls you in. The pacing is a bit uneven, but it ramps up nicely as the students start to uncover the town's dark secrets. It’s got this gritty, raw feel, which is amplified by some surprisingly effective practical effects. The performances can be rough around the edges, but they carry that earnestness you sometimes find in low-budget horror. There's something about its blend of mystery and horror that keeps it distinct, even if it doesn’t always land perfectly. Definitely a film that you chew over long after it ends.
Great example of late '80s indie horror.Features practical effects that stand out for their era.Interesting exploration of small-town secrecy.
