Bloodlust is quite a peculiar entry in the animation genre, really. The whole concept spins around this visceral human/machine dialogue. It’s not your typical animated fare; it’s raw, almost primal in its execution. The filmmaker literally uses his own blood on film leader, which is an insane commitment to the art. You can feel this tension between the organic and the mechanical. The pacing is hypnotic, drawing you into the stark visuals while the optical sound adds this eerie auditory layer that complements the visuals. It feels like a meditation on existence and the fragility of life itself. And the whole experience is just so distinctive, unlike anything else I’ve come across. Definitely a conversation starter for those who appreciate experimental cinema.
